M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 speakers review

M-Audio studiophile AV 40
Speaking of a perfect pair of speakers for a fair price...
Ok, I have these speakers for probably a year and a half now.
Originally, I was thinking of getting a pair of speakers from Bose for my laptop, but then did a little research and M-Audio came up at the top. Bose has a very good marketing strategy, and you always feel like you are missing something big.
But of course, they have different ranges of products. And many of their lines sound really perfect. But I needed to compare apples to apples, in order to pick a right product for the right price.
So, anyway, I went to the store to hear Bose speakers, and even though they sound nice (a laptop lower-end version), I decided to give a chance to M-Audio AV 40. Just an idea of getting a studio monitor, over a consumer speaker, was more attractive to me.
Originally, I expected them to be a bit smaller, but when I heard the sound, I was truly, truly happy about the way they are, and that I didn't buy Bose.
You can see on the picture bellow, there is a bass booster button, which I keep on, all the time. The sound is crisp, with lot of rich bass. But still it won't give you that "boom boom" bass, that makes it sometimes impossible to listen. Also, higher spectrum is not like Altec, too crispy, which is very good from my prospective. Another thing I noticed, for example, movies sound better then on the Sony 5+1 surround system.
Variety of music, that I play on these speakers, sounds perfect, and I'm not just saying this. In addition to these speakers, I have Electro Voice EV1 (DJ) speakers, Monitor Audio, and had some other descent quality speakers in the past. My point is, that for this money, I strongly vote for M-Audio AV 40.
You will be extremely happy with this set of speakers, I guarantee you!
