Alesis DM6 Kit Performance Electronic Drumset

I was researching about electronic drum kits, and expected to find Yamaha or Roland at the Amazon online store, but instead found this fine Alesis drumset.
What I am not a big fond of, with Yamaha, is that the snare drum is not really a snare. I really like the feeling of bounced stick when you hit the real snare.
With electronic drum kits, it's not hard to get different sounds, since the computer unit allows you fine tuning of the sounds, but the feeling plays a role too.
Five years ago when I bought my Yamaha DTXPLORER kit, the best I could find was Roland, that had that bounce back, but the price was unrealistic for my budget.

These days there seem to be a variety of choices, and the prices went way, way down. I paid my kit over $2,000, and you can get this fine drumset for less than $600.
What's truly amazing, is that the electronics are becoming better and better, and the Alesis DM6 offers realistic sound of over 100 quality drum, cymbal, and percussion instruments as well as a sequencer with play-along tracks, metronome, recorder, mix-in jack for playing along with your iPod, and more.
As far as I can see, this drum kit comes with everything you need.
Some people, in the first series, originally received the old version of the firmware, and there was a minor problem with triggering the snare drum, but after a quick firmware update everything gets in order.
This seems to be a really good drumset, and anyway, they are becoming better and better every year.
